Most likely, you over sprayed it, way to thick. Which often causes runs, if the part is vertical. Or you held the can, to close to the item you were painting. It's best to read the instructions on the can, shake well for a minute or two, to ensure, when you press the top, it's all paint coming out, and not a week mixture, or paint and propellant. Make sure, you are six to nine inches from the part being painted.

Aug 19, 2010. Hey guys, I'm trying to spray some plastic pieces however some parts are giving me a hard time. Also as seen in the 2nd pic, the paint in this one area keeps having some kind of reaction. I was building the ESTES Bull Pup and I used the Rustoleum's Painters touch ultra cover 2 Paint and Primer all in one Gloss WHite. Since these paints are very forgiving,as in humidity and temps really don`t cause much concern,except for drying/curing.

If all was perfect, something went wrong, assuming you didn't buy Crackling Paint in the first place. That kind of paint is designed to create cracks.

You may have to sand it down again and repaint. I know it's frustrating, but if you can't live with those cracks, then that's the only choice. Also if you can, practice on some old piece that you can toss in the garbage, when you feel competent. Remember, light spraying, is always better. Even though you may have to make several passes. The Paint does dry quickly, so it won't take all that much longer, and you get a better job.

Check out What you have appears to be what we would refer to most often as 'lifting'. It can be caused by a number of things, the most common of which is solvent entrapment, but incompatible products and contamination can also cause this. Often times if you have an aerosol coating underneath and apply something on top with a hotter solvent on top it will soften the previous coating as it drys. What happens is the surface cures first but all the solvent is stuck in the coating (primer in your case) underneath. It needs somewhere to go so this is what happens. I saw below you used a rustoleum primer, and my guess would be this. These are compatible with automotive topcoats and so this shouldn't happen. What kind of paint are you using?

Thanks for the reply.I was looking for a subreddit on car paint. Thanks for the link. Over the weekend I worked on it and finished. I took the advice from some of the posts here. I sanded it down again.cleaned it.and brought primer for plastic.
